A conversation with actor Gary Lavard

There is a new African American film out called “Raye”.

“Raye,” tells the tale of an African American man who moves to New York City to pursue his dream of becoming a high fashion supermodel.

Raye or Raymond Buckley is played by real life model and actor Gary Lavard.

(More on the film Raye can be found on GBMNews HERE)

Mr. Lavard is an impressive young actor who has compiled an astonishing list of acting and modeling credits.

Home base for the present is Atlanta but he was born in Detroit where he attended performing arts school. He expanded his arts training in New York City, Washington, DC, Los Angeles and most recently at Dillard University in New Orleans. His training has allowed him to be successful in modeling and acting.

As a rising model, Mr. Lavard’s sexy image adorns the advertising of leading clothing brands such as the Gap, Truk Fit, Jordan Craig, and Iridium.

As an actor, his impressive resume includes: Scream Queens (FOX), The Walking Dead (AMC), Nightmare Next Door (ID), Ambivalence, Assistant Motives (Paula Jai Parker), Products of the American Ghetto (Robin Givens), BAIT (season 1), Besties (Netflix), the hit LGBT web series, About Him and most recently TV One’s “Hit A Lick” (Directed by Tasha Smith) & ArtHouse TV’s highly anticipated series, “REDSKIN”.
